Please contact us will in advance so that we can book the church for you and begin preparations for your marriage.

Baptisms

We are delighted that you are thinking of having your child baptised, this is sometimes called a Christening, in one of our churches.

Baptism services often take place within the main service but can at times take place after a service or at a different time.

We offer two types of service.

The first is a Thanksgiving service, which is a service where we thank God for the child. This service involves no promises on the part of the Parents of Godparents, and does not involve the symbolism of the washing with water.

The second service is a traditional Baptism of Christening service which includes the symbolism of cleansing by the washing of water. In this service the Parents and Godparents make promises on behalf of the child to bring them up within the church and the Christian faith, to pray for them and to lead by Christian example.

It would be beneficial to get into the habit of coming to church.   We have family friendly services in one of our churches each week.

Adult Baptism and Confirmation

It is possible to be baptised as an adult or young person.  You are never too old to take this step, and you may choose to do so if you have discovered faith for yourself and now want to make your own promises in the Christian faith.

You may have been baptized at a christening when you were a child or in a different Christian tradition, and there are always special ways to renew the promises that were made then in a fresh way as you discover more about what it means to live them out in your life.

If you were baptised as a child you might want to make those baptismal promises for yourself.  You can do this by being confirmed.

Funerals

When someone dies, there's so much to think about and so much to organise. We understand how difficult this can be, but we can help you say your final goodbye and to support your through this difficult time. Do mention to your funeral director that you would like us to be involved.
