Claiming Your Expenses - Want to make your donations worth more?
Quite often church members buy items for the church (eg flowers, refreshments) or incur travel expenses, and do not bother to reclaim the cost from the parish. The church would be better off if an expense form was completed with a sales receipt, and the cost repaid by the PCC. Then a voluntary donation of the cost can be made as a one-off gift to the church, which can claim the extra Gift Aid tax refund. (this only applies if you are a UK tax-payer)
